Let c represent the circumference of the circle, d represent the diameter ans r the radius.

Since the circumference exceeds the diameter by 16.8cm,

c = d + 16.8

Also, r = d/2

d = 2r

c = 2r + 16.8

The circumference of a circle is given by 2πr.

2πr = 2r + 16.8

subtract 2r from both sides

2πr - 2r = 16.8

r(2π - 2) = 16.8

divide both sides by (2π - 2)

r = 16.8/(2π - 2)

r = 3.92cm
