Volume of water in the cup, V = 1/3 πr2h

where r is the radius of the cup and h is the height of water.

Since the water is filled to half its height, h = 4/2 = 2, daimeter = 3/2 = 1.5

radius = diameter/2

radius = 1.5/2 = 0.75

V = 1/3 π(0.75)2(2)

V = 1.2
