if f(x) = 3x2 − 5x + 4,

f(x − 4) = 3(x - 4)2 − 5(x - 4) + 4

= 3(x2 -  8x + 16) − 5x + 20 + 4

= 3x2 -  24x + 48 − 5x + 20 + 4

collect like term

= 3x2 -  24x − 5x + 20 + 4 + 48

= 3x2 − 29x + 72

Answer: D
