The volume of any prism can also be given as the base area of that prism multiplied by the height. That is,

Volume of prism = Area of base x Height of prism

Since the volume and area are given as 84 and 12 respectively,

84 = 12A

Divide both sides by 12

A = 84/12

A = 7
