y = [log(4x3 - 2x)]

let u = 4x3 - 2x

y = log(u)

du/dx = 12x2 - 2

dy/du = 1/u

Thus, dy/du * du/dx = dy/dx = 1/u * 12x2 - 2

= (12x2 - 2) / u

but u = 4x3 - 2x

Therefore, dy/dx = (12x2 - 2) / (4x3 - 2x)
